Never A Dull Moment
Options expiry ("opex") days, and the periods immediately before and after these events, are volatile and hard to predict, largely due to the impact of dealer hedging and the post-expiry unwinding of those hedges. Today is January opex and there’s a large volume of options expiring, so, expect craziness in markets today and early next week.
